Eric Hitzelberger wrote a humorous blog on ACTIVE RAIN, offering REAL information as to the FIRST TIME HOMEBUYER’S TAX CREDIT.  PROCRASTINATORS:  HEED HIS WORDS!  You can actually  reap the benefits of the $8,000 tax credit, but refer to  the deadlines in his blog, rather than presuming that the December 1st date (so widely tauted by the news media) is actually viable.  Eric explains how waiting  will  likely pull the rug from out under you… because closing takes TIME!
