Weston is located on the Western boundary of Broward County, located about 27 miles northwest of Miami.
It’s a tranquil and suburban community which was established in 1996. Weston has been ranked as the 20th of 25 American cities with the highest incomes and the 18th of the cities with the largest job growth in the Country, according to Money Magazine.
Business Week named Weson as one of the most affordable suburbs in the U.S. in 2006.
There is an 800 year old Tequesta Indian burial mound within the city and it has some notable residents like Jeff Conine (retired baseball player who played for the Florida Marlins), Barbara Palacios (Miss Universe 1986) and Dan Marino (NFL Hall of Fame quarterback and former Miami Dolphin).
Weston is comprised mainly of well designed and constructed gated and non-gated communities, most of which are owner occupied. Property taxes are a little higher than mose other cities which in turn has created better schools and public servies. The area is only 10 miles from the Fort Lauderdale beaches, and residents enjoy golf, biking, field and water sports.
